CAS stands for Create-A-Character in Soul Calibur 3. This mode allows you to make your own character with much depth and style. Moreover, your character can be used in both of Soul Arena? modes (Quick play and Mission mode) plus versus mode, so making him/her stylish will definitely add to your gaming experience. ^_^ When you go into CAS, you start off choosing a gender. After choosing the gender, you will choose a style or occupation for your fighter. After that, you are then taken to the main CAS screen where you can edit the following parts of clothing in your character. ** All This is a default template that Namco included for each occupation. If you?e reading this FAQ right now, you shouldn? even think of using this. =p ** Head - This allows you to change your headgear. ** Hair - This is the option for your character's hair. ** Mask - This option allows your character to put on a mask (which btw, has a lot of variety than most people think) ** Chin Beards, moustaches and masks, oh my! ** Lower torso - This is what your character will be wearing underneath on his torso. More on this in the next part. ** Mid torso - This is the middle layer on the torso, which means that if you put something on this, it can totally block or partially cover the lower torso. ** High torso - This is the topmost layer. If you put something on this, it will cover the whole mid/low torso or a part of it. ** Arms - Wristbands, jewelry and the like. ** Shoulders - This is in my opinion, the most unique part in any Create a character mode I have tried. This allows you to put armor on your shoulders with intricate designs such as dragons' heads, scales and such. ^_^ ** Neck - The items here are usually necklaces and chokers. ** Waist - Belts, sashes and the like. ** Lower legs - This is the same case with the torso group. More in the next part. ** High legs - If you put something on the character in this part, it can potentially cover or block whatever you put on the lower legs. ** Shins/Socks - These are self-explanatory, but it would most probably just cover some part of the high/low legs. ** Feet - Shoes, boots, spiked boots, sandals, etc... meh... =p Most of the parts need to be unlocked, so you will need to play the other parts of the game first to really unlock this mode's full potential. After choosing your attire, you can edit the color of each (I repeat, EACH) part of the outfit. Moreover, you can also edit the color of the eyes and the skin (which is very cool BTW). This allows for ultimate creativity in terms of colors, as you have approximately 192 colors to choose from. Once you are done coloring, you can opt to choose from a set of faces and a set of voices too. There, that should be enough to get you started. (^.^) |
