1UP: Can you tell us about SCIV's play style? Is it more like Soul Calibur III's design, or back to the old-school, hardcore mechanics of SCII?

Katsutoshi Sasaki, director: We have returned to the design flow of SCII. SCII is the most popular and well-known, so we returned to that style here.

September 19, 2007:

New character confirmed! Hilde, aka Hildegard Von Krone. This is the female armored knight character that some people thought was a custom character. According to these scans, she is the daughter of the king of Wolfkrone, a fictional European kingdom. Her full name is derived from Old German words hild and gard, meaning war and protection, respectively. Also in these scans, we discover Astaroth and Raphael are returning in full force. Over the last few games, Raphael has gone from being a somewhat silly character to being... dare I say it... a cool character. New images coming soon.

Loads of things happened over the last month, including a DDoS attack, magazine scans, in game shots of Soul Calibur IV, and 100 members on the forums. The site isn't actually up yet but I hope to get it up by the 1st of July. We'll see.

Also: I got pretty much the entire image gallery up (we're up to over 1200 images), but no character specific galleries yet. That can come later.

June 2, 2007:

Ridiculous amounts of small updates, I started getting the character pages up, the Forums are now up. We have our site live on the internets under a domain name (thanks to Facetious Sage and all the voters!!). Also there is some new news about Soul Calibur IV! Apparently EGM's next issue will talk about it. My guess? It'll be for PS3 and 360, now that the Wii is getting Legends.

June 1, 2007:

The site is now online under a not-so-finalized domain. While we're waiting for a final name, this page will be up. You're not really supposed to know about this page, as it is for TESTING purposes only, and does not really give a good first impression of the site.
